The Vesuvius Fire Pit is crafted from heavy-duty mild carbon steel and finished with a natural patina that will continue to mature beautifully over time. Exposure to weather and regular fires will deepen the finish, creating a rich appearance unique to your fire pit.

Do not tarp your fire pit, the tarp will cause the patina to blacken and stop the oxidation process. In many cases the color of the tarp will transfer to the new steel. During the maturing process keep wet leaves and debris off the piece until the steel matures. Allow the piece to mature with each fire. Sit back, relax and enjoy your new Fire Pit Art®.

Avoid covering the fire pit with a tarp, as trapped moisture may interfere with the natural patina development and cause discoloration. During the initial weathering process, remove leaves, debris, and standing moisture from the surface whenever possible.
